If you wish to upgrade your oil burning furnace or switch to oil, Chalmers Fuels also sells and installs highly efficient home heating equipment such as furnaces and burners, with lease-to-own plans available. </font></p> <p align="left"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"> </font></p> <blockquote> <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">n 1945 when the Second World War ended, Doug Chalmers returned home to Canada and began a career with Imperial Oil delivering heating oil throughout Toronto, and later gasoline to various parts of Southern Ontario. </font></p> <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">In 1962, after realizing that his scope as a driver for the company was limited, he applied for and was appointed the Esso Sales Agent in Maple, Ontario. He was responsible for selling, servicing and delivering heating oil, gasoline, and diesel fuels to homes, farms and businesses within the confines of the old Township of Vaughan. Chalmers Fuels was born! </font></p> <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Doug and his wife Peg Chalmers started the business in the basement of their home with a new tanker delivery truck, a beat up old pick up truck and a handful of customers. Ron started delivering fuel to the now hundreds of Chalmers Fuels customers, all the time being groomed to manage the business. Ron continued the tradition of building the business, changing the customer offerings as customer demands and expectations changed, introducing efficiencies to provide even better service and out pacing all his competitors. </font></p> <p><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">In 1998, after dedicating his life to the business, Ron decided to relax and enjoy his success. Worried about the future of his loyal employees, Ron offered a partnership arrangement with, Nick Brouwer (who had capably managed and grown the Palmerston branch) and a management position to Mark Nebel, a career Imperial Oil manager.
